Wensley Waterfall
A lovely little hidden gem of a waterfall not visible from the roadside, easy enough to get to with a short walk from the pub car park, with a small path next to the old mill which is the home of White Rose Candles. A must-see wonder and it's a 17 min drive away from the property.

Leyburn Shawl
Leyburn Shawl, or simply 'The Shawl', is the name of a limestone scar of modest height that stretches almost two miles west of Leyburn. The aim of this walk was to walk the length of The Shawl and then visit the village of Wensley on the way back. It's a wonderful scenery that you have to visit.

Horsehouse

Leyburn 8 miles; Kettlewell 8 miles; Hawes 18 miles.

Horsehouse is a tiny village in the heart of unspoiled Coverdale, a relatively undiscovered corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

The village is home to “The Thwaite Arms” – a pub serving food and St. Botolph’s Church.

Many green lanes and ancient tracks still cross the fells and connect the hamlets, villages and towns which make up the major settlements in this narrow dale.

The nearest market town is historical Leyburn.

Dominated by its large market square, which still boasts a lively Friday market, the bustling town of Leyburn is known as the ‘Gateway to Wensleydale’, with beautiful views from its western edge across the Dale.

The town has much to offer with its many craft shops, galleries, and tea rooms.

There are many lovely walks for all abilities in this beautiful area, as well as delightful villages to explore.

Also within easy reach are many other attractions, notably the Constable Burton Hall Gardens with extensive parkland and woodland walks, the Forbidden Corner with its underground passages to explore, and of course the lovely Georgian town of Richmond with its fine castle ruins.
